As the Oscars 2023 approaches, anticipation is high to see which actors and movies will be nominated. On Tuesday, January 24, the nominations for the 2023 Oscars will be announced live from Beverly Hills, California. Indian cinema fans are especially excited as four Indian films – RRR, Chhello Show, All That Breathes, and The Elephant Whisperers – have been shortlisted for nominations. RRR has already received international recognition with a Golden Globe award, and Chhello Show has been selected as India’s official entry to the Academy Awards.

Best Actor Nominations

According to a prediction by The New York Times, the following actors may be nominated for Best Actor at the 2023 Oscars: Colin Farrell for his role in The Banshees of Inisherin, Brendan Fraser for his comeback performance in The Whale, Austin Butler for his portrayal of Elvis Presley in Elvis, Bill Nighy for his portrayal of a bureaucrat coping with a terminal illness in Living, and Paul Mescal for his role in Aftersun.

Best Actress Nominations

For Best Actress, The New York Times predicts potential nominations for Cate Blanchett for Tár, Michelle Yeoh for Everything Everywhere All at Once, Viola Davis for her role in The Woman King, Danielle Deadwyler for her portrayal of Mamie Till-Bradley in Till, and Michelle Williams for her role in Fabelmans.

Academy members from all branches have the opportunity to vote in the nomination round by choosing to participate and by viewing all 15 films that are on the shortlist.
