Famous Telugu film director Kalatapasvi K Viswanath passed away at his home in Hyderabad on Thursday, at 92 years old, due to natural causes related to his age.

The body of the late Kalatapasvi, a renowned film director, screenwriter and actor, was moved to his home in Jubilee Hills.

Kalatapasvi, who was born on February 19, 1930 in Guntur district, directed over 50 films in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil and acted in a few successful movies. He was widely known as "Kalatapasvi."

The passing of the legendary film director was mourned by the Chief Ministers of Telangana, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, and Andhra Pradesh, Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy and actors like Jr. NTR, Chiranjeevi and A.R Rahman.

K Viswanath started his directing career with the film "Atma Gouravam" in 1965, which earned him the Nandi Award for Best Debut Director. His final directorial project was "Subhapradam" in 2010.
